For Grandparents – We support ParticipAction’s initiative to get kids spending more time in play and physical activity. We believe that grandparents can and must be an important part of the solution! Try these three beach “functional games” with your grandkids. The sand is wonderful for balance, and soft on the joints. All three exercises use lots of fast twitch muscle fibres, which we lose as we age. So these exercises are great for grandparents too!

This free workshop provides an overview of the current research in exercise for functional aging and outlines evidence-based intervention you can apply in your own daily life. Taught by Gerokinesiologists and Occupational Therapists from Love Your Age Fitness, this workshop will explore the idea that you can delay or completely prevent a slide to disability as you get older.
